Management Blog

The ICCA Management Blog is an area for the management committee members to share their views and thoughts about what's happening at The ICCA. Committee members will each take it in turns to share their views in a regular blog and give you a chance to get to know them better.

We welcome your thoughts on the topics discussed here together with any suggestions for future developments.  You can contact us using the
feedback forms here.

This quarter, we hear from Sudheer Gupta.

Sudheer's Blog

Welcome to the winter 2011/12 management blog.  To introduce myself I am the new Chair of The ICCA Management Board, I have been an active Board Member now for over 16 years.

This year presents new challenges for the organisation with Nottingham City Council unveiling proposals to close the award winning Day Care Service at The ICCA as part of its plans to make savings. The proposal is a real worry to us as it will change the lives of our families and community members who use the Day Care Service at The ICCA. Our service users tell us they enjoy coming to The ICCA for their Day Care. Not having a day care service that they can use or one which does not meet their cultural, language and dietary needs will be very difficult for service users and their families to deal with.

We will need your help to work with us to challenge this proposal urgently please contact Jyoti Agheda on: 0115 9693402 or via email: jyoti.agheda@theicca.co.uk to find out how to get involved in order to protect the Day Care Service at The ICCA for the benefit of our elders in our community and in the future.

On a more positive note I am pleased to report that The ICCA has continued to be successful and we continue to be the busiest community organisation in the County. As you may have read in our latest Newsletter we have successfully launched The Atrium branding for our building with its very own website: www.theatriumnottingham.co.uk

The ICCA cultural events grow more popular year on year, partnerships with Nottingham Asian Arts Council and The Gujarat Samaj have ensured that cultural events such as Navrati have become a part of The ICCA's calendar. Join The ICCA Newsflash to get regular updates on what's happening at The ICCA, you can also become a friend of The ICCA on Facebook and get updated with the Luncheon Club menu daily and view photos of events that have taken place at The ICCA.
