Since 23 November 2015, all OCI applicants have been required to upload the documents, photographs, and signature online, as per the guidelines received from the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India. If you would like to read a press release regarding this, please click here.
It has been a requirement of the High Commission of India for all OCI applications made after 1 December 2015 to have individual digital photographs and signatures uploaded to the secure online server from computers. Many people of all abilities have experienced difficulties and frustration due to the peculiarities of this web-based service, and the ICCA is therefore pleased to be of assistance to those wishing to complete their OCI applications. A PAN Card (Permanent Account Number) is a ten-digit alphanumeric number, issued in the form of a laminated card, by the Income Tax Department, to any “person” who applies for it or to whom the department allots the number without an application. It also serves as an identity proof.
PAN Card is required by an NRI, if he/she has got a taxable income in India. According to the new, rule of SEBI, any NRI not having PAN Card cannat do the share trading by depository or broker.
