Changes in OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) applications

It has been a requirement of the High Commission of India for all OCI applications made after 1 December 2015 to have individual digital photographs and signatures uploaded to the secure online server from computers. Many people of all abilities have experienced difficulties and frustration due to the peculiarities of this web-based service, and the ICCA is therefore pleased to be of assistance to those wishing to complete their OCI applications. The ICCA OCI application service includes the use of a digital camera and suchlike. For further information, please call our Visa and Passport Service on 0115 969 3402.

For further details, please click here.

It is now a requirement of the High Commission of India for all Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders to convert their PIO cards to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards. This service has been extended a number of times by the High Commission of India and the closing date has now been extended to Friday 30 June 2017.

The ICCA can provide assistance with this conversion application as part of the ICCA’s Visa and Passport Service by way of booking an appointment.

The PIO, once converted to OCI, will automatically include the benefits as listed in the OCI section above.

The conversion of PIO to OCI is the same process as the OCI application, whereby documents, signatures and photographs are uploaded online as per the guidelines received from the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India.

For further information, please visit the website of the High Commission of India, London by clicking here.

If you would like more detailed information, please visit the website of VFS Global by clicking here and locating the section entitled ‘PIO to OCI’.
