The ICCA provide a range of classes such as Dhol, Dance, Over 50's Club, Cricket and Golf, to help develop skills and keep our community active.

New at the ICCA - Kik Fit Classes for 8 - 18 year olds

The ICCA will be hosting Kik Fit Classes which aim to improve fitness, develop self-confidence and teach self-defence utilising martial arts techniques from both Karate and Kick-boxing, under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

The classes shall commence with a taster session, free of charge, on Wednesday 10th February at 6.30pm.  Further details will be provided on the night.

Places will be limited to 20 so please call the centre on 0115 969 3402 to reserve a space.  All children are welcome from 8-18 years of age.



Music 

Dhol Classes have resumed for the next 5 weeks up until the middle of December but due to high demand we are over subscribed.

However if you would like to place your name on the waiting list please or for more information please call Harminderjeet Johal on 07790 952 146.

The classes run every Wednesday from 6.00pm – 8.00pm.

Dance

Great news!  The Bollywood Dance Class will kick off again on the 6th January 2010.

The Over 50s Mens Club

The club is aimed at gentlemen over the age of 50 years who are looking to socialise and relax in a friendly atmosphere.  Join the members on Thursdays between 12pm and 2pm.


New at The ICCA – Ladies Club

The ICCA have initiated a Ladies Club, and the aim of the group is to provide opportunities for women to come together to undertake fun/leisure/social activities together.

The membership of the group is open to all women, who are members of The ICCA, and charges will be only made for activities delivered.

Currently they are running a Book Club and a Dholki Class, on Wednesday nights, and for further information about joining please contact Jenny Johal on klasixemb@yahoo.co.uk



Cricket

The ICCA’s cricketing activities have now been established for over eight years offering quality training to young people (boys and girls) in the 5 to 17 years age group. Our objective is to introduce children to the game of cricket and provide avenues to accelerate the development of talented young cricketers in the Nottingham region.

The ICCA’s training offering falls into the following categories:

1.  Summer Outdoor Training: April to July at Grove Farm, Nottingham University Ground, Lenton Lane, Nottingham NG7 2SA.

2.  The ICCA Academy Winter Professional Training Camps.

  • 2008 – Andy Pick, England Under 17/19 years and Elite Player Development Coach

  • 2007 – Samit Patel, Notts CC & England ODI player

  • 2007 – Ian Pont, ex-Essex Bowling Coach


3. Winter Special Training Sessions: September to March

These sessions are aimed at preparing children for the County & District trials. In addition, focused one-on-one sessions are also offered to improve an individual’s batting, bowling and fielding skills.


4. Winter Indoor Training: January to March at the NCSL Indoor Centre

The ICCA’s youth teams in the Under 9, 11, 13 & 15 age groups also play competitive games in the Winter/Spring indoor leagues, City District outdoor league and the outdoor Kwik Cricket leagues for younger children. In the 2008 outdoor season, The ICCA won the Under 11, 13 and 15 age groups City District league titles.

The ICCA offers progressive youth cricket development opportunities and is committed to a professional approach in the development of cricketing excellence.

ICCA Golf Club

For all you golf enthusiasts The ICCA Golf Club offers a challenging and interesting fixture list for this season. The virtual Club, established in Spring 2008, enables us to organise golf at various local golf clubs.

The aim is to encourage participation in this sport, including junior members, as well as enhancing community relations. Discussion about golfing and the networking opportunities usually continue at the 19th hole and optional post match meals.

The courses are selected to provide a challenge to golfers of all abilities as well as offering excellent value. Details on the courses to be played will be e-mailed to members.

As well as playing local courses, ICCA golf has organised four Sunday Drivers- May 16th- Forest of Arden; July 18th- Forest Pines, August 15th MacDonald Portal; September 26th Carden Park

To kick off the season ICCA golf has arranged a trip to Vilamoura in Portugal from the 12th April 2010.

To join the Club please submit the application form with your subscription fee of £15 ( £5 for under 18’s) to The ICCA. In return you will receive a quality embroidered cap with The ICCA Golf Club logo, as well as being able to play on the golf days at reduced green fees.

Golf tuition for beginners has been arranged for Sunday 7th February. For further details see link.

ICCA Golf Club – for Beginners


Due to a number of members asking about ICCA's golf offer for beginners, we are pleased to inform you that we have set up an 8 week course for beginners. This will be an excellent opportunity for adults and youngsters who want to learn this great sport to experience it first hand before taking the plunge.

Instruction will be in groups of 8 to 10 people.

Course: GOLF FOR BEGINNERS ( Applicable for both youngsters and adults)
Venue: RAMSDALE GOLF CLUB,
Location: Calverton Road, Arnold. (Right off A614 towards south well). Tel. 0115 9655600
Time : Arrive at 10.45 am for 11.00am start, Duration 1 hour.
Start Date. Sunday 7th. Feb 2010.
PGA Instructor. NICK BERRY
Cost : . £50 for 8 week course. All cheques to be made payable in to The ICCA.

Payment must be made in advance and handed in at The ICCA or via Resham Aujla ( Tel 07989474190)

Equipment. Club and balls will be provided by the pro instructor however you will need to buy your own tight fitting golf glove, which can be purchased in any golf shop.

As the tuition group will consist of 8 to 10 people and if the demand is larger we may form two groups. Naturally in the case of children, parents may prefer to wait in the bar during the one hour tuition period, or alternatively arrange own transport in groups from the ICCA.

It is envisaged after the 8 weeks they can develop their own skill further on the PAR 3 course.
