COVID 19 Updates

Dear Members,

I hope this letter finds you in good health.
There is no doubt that we are experiencing difficult times and a threat that none of us have come across before. However, as always our community will continue to rise to the challenges of this tough situation and find a way forward.
The ICCA has followed the government advice on social distancing and has closed its doors for business in order to protect our most vulnerable day care users, our members and our staff.
The ICCA Management Board has made the hard decision to shut the centre but also to furlough our small, but invaluable staff team.
Our communities are coming together at this unprecedented time and are trying hard to follow the government guidance on social distancing and protecting our vulnerable.

What to do if you need support
The Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County Councils and Districts, and other agencies are coordinating a range of support packages for our most vulnerable residents at risk from Coronavirus.
If you need urgent non-medical support, or if you are worried about an elderly or vulnerable neighbour, please get in touch by calling the Nottinghamshire Community Support and Volunteering Hub on 0300 500 8080.
This help and support could include:
– safe and well checks, befriending
– dog walking
– social contact/ virtual befriending
– food and medicine collections
– standard health and social care
– COVID-19 support
If you have a concern about an adult or child that is in an emergency situation or risk to life, call 999 or for non-emergency call 0300 500 80 90.
Please, we urge you to practice social distancing and to not visit each other, either out doors or at each other’s homes. Our temples and Gurudwaras, as with all places of worship are also closed in order to adhere to the government guidelines, so please do not go to these places and
put yourself or others at risk.

Be safe and take care of our vulnerable is what we ask you to practice. Our NHS needs protecting and we must play our part.

Thanking you all for your individual efforts in helping each other and for following the government guidelines on distancing.

We hope to open the centre and welcome you all as soon as is safe and possible.

Kashmeera Gorecha and Victor Mahal

The ICCA Management Board.
