Dead Members and Friends,
We hope you are all keeping well and safe.
This year is almost over and we have not had the opportunity to host our celebratory ICCA events. However there is light at the end of the tunnel for all of us with a positive outcome of the new Covid-19 vaccine. Hopefully, 2021 will be a better year for all of us as a result of the efforts of the scientific community and our NHS.
Team ICCA has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to protect our Day Care service. In partnership with Amardeep Bhattal and Nottingham City Council we have kept this our top priority and have strived to keep this area running during the pandemic. Many of our most vulnerable are benefitting from this service and we are honoured to help.
Our Dosti meal take away service has also been open for some time and is often used by the local community and our members who enjoy the meals tremendously. Don’t forget we are now available on Deliveroo if you would like your food delivered to your door!
Unfortunately, our other services and the centre itself has closed for events and activities which has made it hard for many of our older members such as our Over 50s Club. But them being a resilient group have modernised and provided online zoom activities to help those isolated at home. Well done to the group.
Overall, this has been a tough year for all of us and we have to look forward to better circumstances next year. We urge you all to stay safe over Xmas and limit your socialising wherever possible. Do the sensible thing and stay with your households and cheer in 2021 as we all welcome the new vaccine.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Kashmeera – Vice Chair, ICCA.
